Art
Artwork from my time in the Urban Planning & Design studio at the University of Missouri - Kansas City is showcased in the Art & Design tab. While I don’t consider my skills at drawing, painting, or other related arts to be highly proficient, I believe my portfolio shows growth in my design ability.
Transitioning from pencil and paper to entire projects being completed in ArcGIS Pro to eventually using a diversified approach. Design is a skill that I will continuously adapt and foster.
Policy
I feel my creativity has found a home in policy design over the last few years. Though policy work seems to be abstract and impossible to some folks, I have arrived at the conclusion that everything is ‘made-up’ and we must do a better job of ‘making-it-up’ better.
Urban Design
Creating a space that intends to foster some feeling or environment is one of the most difficult challenges I’ve faced on my design journey. The built environment and our lived experiences in those spaces are the foundation of all human constructs. If we want to change our society or culture, we must first change the built environment changing our lived experiences.
Music
My first design passion that gave me a foundation for creative design and an understanding of how to build onto what’s already there. My introduction to music was my in my freshman year of high school when I decided to join the high school choir. I was given a solo for my first choir concert which is when I realized I could sing. I later learned guitar, bass, piano, and drums to accompany my vocals and allow me to be able to write every part for each song.
